Bergplaats Game Lodge is situated on 8 500ha of private land on the plains of the Karoo just 80km outside the town of Beaufort West. Set against a mountain backdrop, the farm supports a huge diversity of wildlife in this malaria free area.Bergplaats serves as a private safari destination for both local and international visitors and it is also a tranquil retreat for those needing to escape the stresses of city life.Guests are accommodated at our very rustic bush campsite or we also offer Bed & Breakfast & Fully Catered accommodation & can accommodate a maximum of 14 guests at our 2 game lodges, Gemsbok Lodge & God's Window Mountain Lodge.At night, you will simply never see a more spectacular sight than when you look up at the canopy of stars over Bergplaats.

A range of activities awaits the traveller to Bergplaats. Intrepid souls can explore the stunning surrounds, while adventure-seekers can take to the veldt on one of our four-by-four tracks. Nothing beats a sunset game drive in pursuit of the various species of antelope, including gemsbok, blue wildebeest, Eland & zebra, that populate the vast tracts of land. Bergplaats offers a world-class hunting experience and boasts its very own on-site butchery, where hunters can participate in the processing of their own meat, should they wish. Bergplaats is a beautiful Karoo farm.The overall impression is one of endless landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see, an almost eerie solitude in which you can almost feel the peace and tranquility and achieve total piece of mind.
